Sometimes you need to be Bad to be good...

Tenacious 10-yr old Monica and her mother have to move in with her uncle on the other side of the city far from their beloved Portuguese neighbourhood. In doing so Monica will miss the annual procession at her church for the Virgin Mary. Unable to accept or understand why, Monica rebels and steals a pair of angel wings from the church that are meant to be part of the procession. Guilt ridden and anxious over what she's done Monica ends up loosing the wings only to later  find them on the back of a homeless woman who thinks she’s the Virgin Mary. When an unlikely bond between the two lonely souls develops, Monica must make a choice about the fate of the wings, while confronting her inability  to embrace change.

Saint Monica won Best Feature Film at the Sarasota International Film Festival. It
was developed with the support Telefilm Canada & TMN The Movie Network, Chum and Corus Entertainment.
